This series of modules, designed by authors from the Society for Health Psychology, are intended for use in academic training programs. The future Behavioral Health Clinician workforce needs to be able to address the psychological and behavioral aspects of health care within primary care. Therefore, future psychologists need training in interdisciplinary team-based care and the skills needed to provide assessments and interventions that are appropriate in primary care settings. Since few Behavioral Health graduate training programs have faculty with integrated primary care expertise, the Society for Health Psychology’s Committee on Integrated Primary Care has developed a free, “plug and play” course to enable programs to provide students with exposure to primary care behavioral health competencies.
